विधि [ vidhi ] [ vidhi ]2 m. ( for 1. see p. 967 , col. 2) a rule , formula , injunction , ordinance , statute , precept , law , direction ( esp. for the performance of a rite as given in the Brāhmaṇa portion of the Veda , which accord. to Lit. Sāy. consists of two parts , 1. Vidhi , " precepts or commandments " e.g. [ yajeta ] , " he ought to sacrifice " , [ kuryāt ] , " he ought to perform " ; 2.
